Investing in massage is an investment in your health.
Swedish Massage: Strokes are long, gliding, lifting, wringing, deeper small moves to address tight muscles and tendons; percussive strokes, and light energetic strokes. The client disrobes to level of comfort and is covered by a sheet. Oil or lotion is used on the skin.
Shiatsu Massage: Japanese for finger pressure or acupressure. Aligning ones Vital Energy or Qi through breath work, rocking, wringing, and pressing on points throughout the pathways of the body. It helps to maintain physical and mental wellbeing, treat diseases, and alleviate pain. Shiatsu is considered holistic because it attempts to treat the whole person instead of a specific medical complaint. The client is in loose clothing and can be barefoot. No top sheet is used, unless chilled.
Sports Massage: A sports-massage helps athletes to avoid injuries and enhance their overall performance. Proper sports massages should concentrate on increasing motion and flexibility, relieving muscle soreness, and promoting a quick recovery from muscle overuse. Deeper tissue work is often uncomfortable, but beneficial. The therapist often isolates one group of muscles that is strained or hypertonic and may use ice and/or heat.
Thai: A combination of slow stretching with deep compressions. Body is clothed in loose pants and top. Increased Range of Motion (ROM) and blood circulation gives the benefits of wellness, balance, and coordination.
